Onderstaand de tien platen die in mij in 2017 de grootste vreugde brachten dan wel de meeste indruk maakten. Zoals gebruikelijk dwars door alle genres en leeftijden heen. Maar wel steevast platen met hart en ziel.

De winnaar was wat mij betreft onomstreden. The Horrors begon tien jaar geleden als een uiterst smakelijke gothische psychedelische garagerock gimmick en blijkt in 2017 op alle fronten volwassen te zijn geworden. Niet in de laatste plaats dankzij de bemoeienis van top producer Paul Epworth, die deze spannende mix van postpunk, psychedelica, industrial, krautrock en dream pop van een episch en toegankelijk geluid voorzag. De rest volgt op gepaste afstand.
